 Community

Community to us means the Seattle area, and more specifically West and South Seattle.  Here are some great groups we belong to and/or support:

Community Orchard of West Seattle (C.O.W.S.) – A new public orchard and perennial food production project located on the campus at South Seattle Community College.  Filled with real-world examples of permaculture techniques and strategies, this site is an invaluable resource for those who want more than theories out of a book or classroom.

Sustainable Seattle- Sustainable Seattle was founded in 1991 as a non-profit organization to spread the idea and practice of sustainability on a city, country, regional and even international level.  Sustainable Seattle is a strong and inclusive community focused on social justice, education and collaboration as tools for a brighter future.

http://www.terraflorafarm.com/images/meetup.jpgMeetup.com- A great forum for local folks to advertise workshops, organize lectures and tours, and communicate about all levels of permaculture experience.

http://www.terraflorafarm.com/images/spg.jpgSeattle Permaculture Guild- This sweet local site is a super resource for job hunting and nuts-and-bolts information for the more experienced permaculture practitioners. It's a wiki website so you can post your own content, too.
