Here we have an example of a lawn to garden transformation. This before picture was taken in February 2009, the after picture was taken in July 2009. It's amazing to see what a mere 5 months can yield in an active and well designed permaculture system! In this project's first 7 months, this front-lawn garden produced in excess of 1500 pounds of fresh organic fruits, vegetables and herbs. Done on a rental property, this project proves that a productive garden is also be a beautiful one. This is what we mean when we say "eat your yard"!
